Garfield County Housing Authority

The Garfield County Housing Authority serves residents of the Roaring Fork Valley to Parachute for whom conventional housing is unaffordable. GCHA assists individuals, families, seniors and persons with disabilities and works to locate and rent or purchase adequate housing.

The Garfield County Housing Authority is open Monday-Thursday from 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-12pm. Please note The Garfield County Housing Authority ONLY ACCEPTS APPOINTMENTS on Thursdays at our Rifle Office. We encourage all applicants and participants to utilize our Drop Box located just east of the glass doors. GCHA staff will still be accepting phone calls and emails. IMPORTANT NOTICES

• The Garfield County Housing Authority is currently looking for a Full Time Intake Specialist. For more information about this posting, CLICK HERE!
• The Admin Plan is currently being updated with future HUD changes including the National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE) Inspection protocol and the Housing Opportunity through Modernization Act (HOTMA) changes. The GCHA Admin Plan will be available for review and public comment on a future date. Please contact GCHA with any questions.
• UPDATE: Effective October 1st, 2025, GCHA will be adopting new HUD inspection standards under NSPIRE. For more information about the requirements that still have to comply by December 23, 2024, CLICK HERE.
• The Garfield County Housing Authority has updated our Down Payment Assistance Program. GCHA provides loans to families who need help to purchase a home. Funds can be used to cover the down payment and closing costs. Loan can be 3% of purchase price up to $15,000! CLICK HERE for more information.
